Happy Holiday Donation
We have chosen again for a donation to The Ocean Cleanup, which is fully reliant on donations from individuals, corporations, governments and institutions. A substantial donation has been made today.
Who & what is The Ocean Cleanup
Rotterdam, The Netherlands, 22 April 2024: The Ocean Cleanup, the global non-profit project, has removed a verified all-time total of ten million kilograms (22 million lbs.) of trash from oceans and rivers around the world — approximately the same weight as the Eiffel Tower.
The Ocean Cleanup is an international non-profit organization, that uniquely focuses on the implementation of technologies that can be used to clean up the plastic from oceans all over the world. Their objective is to accomplish this by employing a two-pronged approach: provides the opportunity to halt the flow by channelling it through the rivers, as well as removing the already existing stock in the ocean.
The Ocean Cleanup was founded in 2013 by Dutch inventor Boyan Slat at the age of 18. The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organization, is developing and exploring technologies to get rid of plastics in the world’s oceans. Their aim is to put themselves out of business once the oceans are clean.
